Move cat settings to a new computer?

I want to move my SmartCAT settings to another computer.
If I first install SmartSDR on the new computer, can I simply then copy
the CAT settings file located in %APPDATA%FlexRadio SystemsCAT.settings
from my old computer to my new computer?
Thanks,
Neal

i would try it, but backup the 'new install' first before doing it

Yes, as long as the new computer does not have an existing hardware port with the same port number as the imported SSDR CAT ports.

Dear K0VM:
When I first install SmartSDR on the new computer, even without ever connecting it, it seems to make a SmartCAT entry with COM4. On the old computer, I do have a Slice-A CAT COM4.
Will there be a conflict when I copy in the backup configuration file for SmartCAT?
Sincere Thanks,
Neal

To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to do so as you there is no guarantee on your new computer there might already be Com ports in place. What that means if you are using 6/106 on your current PC, what if 6 is already assigned to some other application.
So, that means you have to rebuild all your com ports as you re-install your Ham programs on the new computer.

I used a used a copy program that moved all files and settings from my old computer to my new one. All comports as programmed on my old computer became functional on the new computer. It did it over the LAN. My two computers use w10. EaseUS Todo PCTrans from Cleverbridge is the program used. Also transferred most of my applications, which worked for most but some needed key support, some were free some had to pay for new copy.0
