Integration of LP-500 or LP-700 in my FLEX station
I'm about to integrate telepost.com LP-500 or LP-700 I currently have a LP-100A. I would like to know any integration issues, I may have.
The Computer I will using is my Windows 11 laptop gaming system.
My station is FLEX 8600, PGXL TGXL and AGXL
Thanks, Jim WU5E

Hi Jim
It should be just like any other watt meter. You want the sensors right after the radio and before the TGXL to get accurate RF readings. You can put it after the TGXL, but the readings will not be accurate.
Essentially, it is the same as the LP-100A setup.
What else are you hoping to do with it?

Hello @James Kennedy-WU5E
It's pretty much as Mike says: "Integration" really only means hooking up the Coupler correctly.
There is no integration with SmartSDR, if that's what you're looking for.
With my LP-700, I have to use the stand-alone app "LP 500 VM" virtual-meter. If you are remote, there is no remote-app for the LP-500/LP-700, you can only "Remote Desktop" in to your station-PC and use the VirtualMeter app the same as you would if you were not remote. It does seem anachronistic in this day-and-age, I have to say.
There is now an option for the Telepost Couplers, which was not available to me a few years ago: you can order a coupler with a -50dBc "PureSignal" sense-port. This MAY, one day, work with Flex's 8000-family and Adaptive Pre-Distortion, but this feature is currently only rumour with external devices. Having a -50dBc port would sample and feed back a small portion of your actual transmitted signal from any (ie non-Flex) amplifier. Like that favourite ol' tube amp sitting in the corner of your shack 😃

Hi Gord and James,
Just wanted to insert one small comment in here: Flex closing ADP around external h/w - the PGXL specifically - is not a rumor. They specifically promised it as a key feature the then new 8XXX radios would have. It was a prime selling point because at the time they introduced them (Dayton 2024) there were only promised soon-to-be-added features to justify buying one. And those features were specifically promised by the end of that year - and that year was 2024. This was well documented all over the place at the time.
So we should all expect the full implementation of ADP, including inclusion of the PGXL at least, any minute. I'm guessing if the sampled data originated from a suitable sampler like what you describe with the Telepost couplers, that would work as well.

I have the LP700.
Four total sensors.
Channel 1 between radio Ant1 and PG XL input A.
Channel 2 between PG XL A output and TG XL A input.
Channel 3 between radio Ant2 and PG XL B input.
Channel 4 between PG XL B output and TG XL B input.
Channel Auto will read the sensor with highest reading (channel 2 or 4 when using PG XL)
Trapezoid screen on LP700 will show input power, output power, and amp gain. This is with latest LP700 firmware and software. The meter and sensors are located in a server cabinet in my garage. I have a management PC in the radio server cabinet. USB from LP700 to that PC. I run Virtual Here server software on the management PC. Virtual Here client on PC in shack. This allows me to run the LP700 app on my shack PC connected tp LP700 USB port in the server cabinet.

@Russ Ravella wrote, regarding Adaptive Pre-Distortion: "They specifically promised it as a key feature"
… as they did for my Flex 6400.
Let's hope the f_a_t lady sings, soon

I have the LP-100A after the TGXL and it gives the accurate SWR I have check and recheck and it's accurate.
