Maestro B

Hi to All,

I like many others purchases a version B maestro in the passed few years.

However mine after 6 years of faultless service, suddenly I got a Z fault on an update.

I put in a ticket to flex and Tim pick up the ticket, after many emails, Tim recommended I send it to Germany, flex service center.

I sent off the maestro as per instruction from Tim @ flex to Norbert in Germany.

Email from Norbert @ flex service center, unfortunately your maestro needs a replacement Z chip or a new control board, unfortunately these are a none stock item, I have emailed Austin for a replacement & costing of the Z chip.

Update, unfortunately there are no more spares whatsoever for the maestro version B anymore, this is now an discontinued maestro due to none available parts for maestro B, the new maestro C is now available.

Now I have a very expensive door stop as do all you Guys that purchased a maestro B.

I have emailed Tim @ flex many times to see how we can move forward, unfortunately no reply.

Flex cannot guarantee service for the 6300, 6500 or 6700 due to lack of parts. It is not surprising that they cannot guarantee service for the early Maestros.

Same issue for the front panel of the older M model radios. About the only thing you can do is try to find a replacement part from a 3rd party. I would ask for a part number as there could be a reseller out there selling surplus parts from the original manufacturer.

I just checked on the front panel for M models and we are still repairing those items. If you heard something different, I would like to know the source.

Brian, I am checking on the Z chip for you.

I'm half in and half out. :)

Paul's reply to you should have helped a bit.

So what is the part number of the "Z chip", lots of skilled people around who can do repair/rework.
