Confused about mic and Marstro C
Answers

the Y cable kit has a Y cable with TRRS that plugs into the CTIA connector on Maestro. Mic plug goes into the mic side of Y cable.
There is an RCA female to TS 3.5mm male adapter. Mic PTT to the adapter and adapter to PTT in on Maestro.

I have that same FHM3 variant (with RJ45) which I used with my Maestro B. I am waiting for the appearance of a new mic-cable, which I can plug directly into the microphone, and the other end has two Maestro C plugs.
I lose adapters. They get noisy and intermittent. I don't want adapters.

look at the k5ebq comments below it took me several hours as well to figure it out; the headset connector stays disconnected; i also like the mic connector on the B MUCH BETTER they should have made an adapter

I wonder if my Heil Pro 7 headset will work?

I should send out the Maestro C FAQ again. :)
Mics with TS (Mono) Microphone connectors
Microphones with a TS ⅛” Microphone connector (such as Heil ProSets) may not work correctly with the Y adapter cable.
The Y cable requires a TRS ⅛” connector with the Mic + on Tip and the Mic - (or ground) on the Shield.
Heil has advised us they are working on a solution, so you may want to reach out to Heil directly.
PTT and Headset Breakout Kit (MAE-C-Adapter)
If you wish to use the FLEX-6400 or FLEX-6600 FHM-3 Hand Mic or the Inrad desk Mic with a Maestro C, you will need this kit.
The kit includes the RCA to ⅛” TS Mono adapter to connect a Footswitch with an RCA connector such as the Radiosport Footswitch.
It also included a Headset Y adapter that splits the Headset TRRS jack on the Maestro to a ⅛” TRS for the Microphone and a ⅛” TRS for a typical stereo Headset.
When using the FHM-3 and the Y cable:
- M-HDST selected on the Maestro C
- BIAS turned on in the Phone/CW settings
- USB or LSB mode
- TX DAX turned off
These 2 items are a must-have with your Maestro C.

The PTT button on FH3 won’t key the Maestro C? Must you use an external keying device like a foot switch external switch? Or if I get the Y cable and new microphone that’s all I need?0
-
The Y cable includes an adapter that allows plugging the mic’s PTT lead into the Maestro C’s PTT socket.
