Maestro versions

Yes, it looks like some some changes have been made, at least to the Maestro photo shown on their website. But if you look at the Maestro Users Guide dated Dec 7 2017 that back panel shows the same layout as my early pre-ordered Maestro (1616-5092-0100-5099). Also the current Maestro Users Guide makes no mention of the REM ON jack.
Perhaps the website photo you ran across is showing Maestro v2.0?0 -
Richard,
Can you show the manual/pictures your are comparing? REM on was never on a Maestro version. That is the back panel of a 6000 radio.
If we have the wrong documents posted somewhere, I would like to get it fixed.

The photo is on their web site at

Ah, that is a very old computer 3D sketch. Those were never manufactured with those connections on it. Nice catch!0

See rear panel layout here: http://www.flexradio.com/amateur-products/flex-6000-signature-series/maestro/

I'll work on getting updated actual photos of the Maestro updated on the website early next week.0

Thanks, glad to know it is not the current production.

How do you tell the difference between a V1 and V2 Maestro? I have searched the community, but found nothing definitive.
Thanks, Markus.

The third set of numbers in the serial number:
0100 - Maestro series A
0101 - Maestro Series B0 -
Thanks Tim0

What are the differences between Maestro Series A vs B ?0
-
Functionally, nothing.
The display module in the Maestro A was discontinued, so we did a last buy for serviceability but not enough to do a full production run, so the Maestro B has a different display model, but the same display specs.
The new display required a different interface control module to interface with it and the control (knob and buttons) boards.0 -
You can also tell the difference in where the power button is located. The V1 Maestro is on top and V2 is on the left side.

So I must have a V1.5 (maybe a hybrid or a mut) as power switch on left side (indicative of V2), serial number 2118-3389-0100-1234 (indicative of V1) ordered at Hamvention 2018 and received a week ago yesterday. Color me confused...

Those are SmartSDR versions. Those posts are before version 3 was released.0
-
so if my Maestro has the power switch on the left side, its a B model?0
-
Yes. There are only 2 Maestro Models, A and B. If the term version is used, it is the SmartSDR software and there is v1, 2 and 3.1
-
Could someone please post a photo showing the repositioned power switch? Thanks in advance! David0
-
David, it is pretty obvious. The A model has the power on the Top edge and the B model has it on the Left edge.

I have the same question as Ron WB2WGH. He has serial number 2118-3389-0100-1234 with the power switch on the left edge.
My Maestro has serial number 2118-3389-0100-1001 with the power switch on the left edge. It has the "flexRadio Systems" logo.
BTW, I also have a Maestro with serial number 0119-3664-0101-0124 with the power switch on the left edge. The logo shows as "FlexRadio" The word "System" is not there.
Tim - W4TME states the The third set of numbers in the serial number:
0100 - Maestro series A
0101 - Maestro Series B
Mike-VA3MW states "The A model has the power on the Top edge and the B model has it on the Left edge."
Just exactly what model Maestro does Ron and I have?0 -
No takers on this one??? I would have thought someone from Flex would have given some kind of response even if it was just to say you are hallucinating.
Maybe I have a Maestro B from the batch after you ran out of the original tablets but before the "C". I will never know because you are keeping it a secret. Do you need photo proof?
Care to guess Mike???

Tom,
Did your Maestro go in for repair at one point?

I guess I wll never know the true version of my first Maestro. It has the serial number and logo of the "A" Model and the power switch location of the "B" Model. The second one is definitely a "B" model Maestro.
It is a shame I can't get anyone from Flex to answer a simple question like this. I know they monitor these threads.

If anyone is interested, I finally got an official answer to this question… What I have is one of the early "B" models that got affixed with an "A" model serial number.
