Yup I pretty much tried to say that in my past post but maybe I was too technical in stating it, run rate and all that.

    Thanks Tim,

Pretty much said some or parts of what you reiterated.  And yes it is not a perfect solution and we would never ask Flex about where we sit in the queue, etc. as we are aware of the problems that can also cause.

But it is my opinion that some value can be obtained from this if nothing more then entertainment and a way of keeping the excitement going.   This was originally meant to be a more literal thing.  i.e. I can expect that if someone with an order number near mine reports that they have a ship date, that I may soon get a call also.   Not to guess that mine will be on x date and Joes will be on such and such a date.

Although I still believe that I am at least 40 back or more from the number one order, and that puts me late in the year.  again not knowing run rate, etc.  this is a WAG (Wild Arse Guess) but I would be happy to be surprised that I was wildly wrong :)

Watching the time of order is like watching 3830scores.com after a contest.  You place high in the rankings early on, then other participants post their score and you start moving down the list.

I was just thinking that 10 seconds before reading your post. I'm really hoping that someone ordered 100 Flex caps between my order and Mike - W8MM order! (I'm assuming that W8MM's order date is actually 8 Feb and not 9 Feb)

And then there are people who don't post to 3830 and end up beating you really badly in the actual official results. Happened to a friend, he thought he placed in the top 10 and #1 in his call district but actually placed much lower down.

I am really enjoying this thread. Like Tim, I am getting a chuckle out of it while I await the arrival of my new amplifier, the last one I ever anticipate buying for HF and 6 meters. My Steppir DB 18E should be arriving in about a week and I will be busy assembling it and anticipating the PowerGenius XL to match with it. My tower was installed only a month ago. (Love my retirement gifts to myself. My XYL INSISTED that I get the tower and the Steppir. Who am I to refuse her!)  Now all I need to do is trade my 6500 for a 6700. Oh yeah, I forgot about the transverters, UHF amps and directional antennas for UHF...

Well, anticipation is a good thing.

"If all goes well, espect October deliveries" I would rather get a later delivery, after all the bugs are worked out, than a sooner delivery with some bugs remaining. I am sure that Flex fels the same way. So, I am expecting late October to January 2018 deliveries. A December delivery about 5 days berfore Christmas would be nice...and my birthday is December 3, so an after Thanksgiving to December 1 delivery would be nice. I have to admit that I am enjoying this thread a lot. So if delivery is delayed past October, I will  not be very upset. I realize that this is heresy of the worst kind and that I will be tarred and feathered. But I had to say it. This thread is one
of the most enjoyable threads in years!

I should have placed my order early on so that I could have paid for it while I wait the 6 to 9 months before it gets here. It might have worked out but I do not buy things with out a way to pay before hand.
