WiFi access

Options
Hi,
The Flex-8400 didn't support WiFi. When I am on holiday I want to access it using my Laptop but connecting by cable in some hotel-room or apartment can be a little be dangerous, so a 'WiFi cable' can be a solution. Any ideas how I can do this?
My Laptop should be connected to the internet of the hotel/apartment unsing a special VPN so at my LAN port of my laptop I get my private network like home. For security reasons, I have to use this VPN (Lancom router).

I am a bit confused by your posting.

The actual radio is connected to your home network, correct? So, this part is secure.

When you access the radio from a hotel using SmartLink, the connection is fully secure thanks to the TLS connection it makes to the radio. There is actually no need for a VPN to securely use the radio.

Sorry, the situation is quite different.
When I am on holiday, I need a secure access to the network at home. I maintain a healthcare system and there is no room for experiments. So my rooter at home and an app on my laptop creating a very secure tunnel. Over this tunnel I also have internet to access dx-cluster or something else.

I take the 8400 with me, so it sits somewhere in the room/apartment. It is very likely, that the place for the 8400 and the laptop will be quite different, To have a LAN cable isn't the best idea. Somebody could fall over.

This is the reason why I look for a wireless solution. I found some WiFi-Lan bridge devices now.

    Did somebody tried some?
