AU-520M Fan noise?

I just received a new 520M and love it already — except — the only problem is the fan is loud. Even when it is just left on and only receiving the fan is much louder than the three computers I have running in my shack. I’m fine with the fan coming on and speeding up with transmitting with a lot of power but I would expect it would be quiet on receive. It is loud enough and bothering me enough that I am having second thoughts. Anyone else with an Aurora who can comment on fan noise while just receiving? Maybe I just have a noisy / defective fan?

I had a lot of fan noise with my 8600M and had to send it back' not with the 520M; I did have a problem with the VFP knob rubbing against the cabinet; contacted flex and bought a allen wrench and just adjused the vfo knob; the noise on my 520M is not that loud but if it sounds like a rubbing noise and ticking like a clock contact support i had to do that on m 8600M good luck

@ve3xvc That sounds unusual for Fan noise. You need to open a support ticket.

It wouldn’t hurt if you can define loud a bit better as well as it can be a totally subjective interpretation.

Can you maybe measure it? There are many excellent apps for cell phones today that would at least provide a reference to work with.

there are 3 fans. 1 large fan in the chassis and 2 smaller fans in the 48V power supplies if I remember correctly. Regardless, this needs to be follow up with the support/service team.

Thanks Mike. I just created a support ticket. I just checked with a sound level meter (app) and it is 52.2db(a) which seems even louder than yesterday. This is with no recent tx and no connected clients in a cool air conditioned room so hopefully this is not normal and I can get it resolved.
