SmartSDR CAT Version 4.2.20

Brand new 8400 and software 4.2.20 software install

Whats happening is:

CAT becomes unresponsive, clicking the Icon for CAT does nothing. To make it become reactive. I have to start a reinstall of SmartSDR 4.2.20, Select Repair, reinstall 84fe.msi and reboot.

Also on the restart ALL of my added CAT settings are lost regardless of the fact they have been saved.

Looking at Device Manager all of my saved Cat Ports are there, BUT are not shown in the SmartSDR CAT popup.

Will be grateful if someone can point me in the right direction

    Hi Ron, I would export profiles, then do a factory reset. Before re-importing profiles, try setting up and saving CAT ports again. If it still has the same issue, submit a help desk ticket.

    If that does work, re-import profiles, but leave Preferences unchecked and see if it stays fixed. If it does, then you likely had a corrupt preference file. If re-importing without Preferences causes the issue to return, then you likely have a corrupt profile. You can either rebuild them all, or import them one by one until you figure out which one is the culprit (I have a lot of profiles, so I would check each one rather than rebuild them all).

    If you click on the “Station” pulldown next to your call do you see other choices? I’ve been using CAT with SmartSDR and Aether and I have two different choices (using Windows 11). Depending on which SDR program I’m using, it is one or the other choice to get the expected settings. The other choice is empty. Mark - wd9jen.

    Did as you suggested with the addition step of placing the SmartSDR software onto it's own NUC, works fine now.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
