Maestro and old SSDR

If I understand the post correctly (https://community.flexradio.com/discussion/8033576/removing-old-versions-of-smartsdr-on-the-maestro-and-m-model-radios-post-v4-2-18#latest) I will not be able to run my Maestro if I am still on SSDR 2.12.1 after june 26. I am still a bit hesitant to upgrade as there are reports that there are still issues with CW timing with the new releases. 2.12.1 has been almost perfect (just almost 😂 ).

Oddly v 1.12.1 is not on the removal list, but 2.12.1 which is the latest is listed, meaning I could still run V1 but no V2 ?!?

CW timing was fixed. If you still have an issue after that, we would like to know about it but you need to test it on 4.2.20 please. In most cases, you can easily down grade to a previous version.

There are litterly thousands of latency and performance improvements since 2.12.1 was released in about 2018, over 8 years ago.

Later this month, these versions will be removed (as of the time I write this - subject to change).

    4.1.3
    3.10.10
    3.9.19
    3.9.18
    3.8.23
    3.7.4
    2.12.1
    2.10.1

I am very happy to learn that the cw-timing has been fixed! This will be exciting news to my friend who just have had the cw-jitter issue discussed with Eric KE5DTO who apparently did aknowledged this and started to look into this issue… And I just got an audio recording telling how bad it really is from a 8600 running 4.2.20! If you are really interested I can send you the audio file and further information, but it is an ongoing ticket (not mine though).

As you may recall I have been complaining of OTHER issues related to CW over the years and it seems it all started with SSDR v2.5.1, and I was forced to use 2.4 for quite a long time until the release of 2.12 finally resolved that issue. Now from what I can see 2.12.1 is NOT 8 years old, I might be wrong, but it rather looks released last year?? (edit: make that two years)

If the 2.12.1 is removed from the list I will be forced to upgrade, but how to downgrade if needed the software will not availabe on the Maestro?

Sounds just like I enjoy complaining, but far from that, having used and enjoyed Flex for 10+ years I really really like it and would love to be able to trust it to serve me with 100 % CW performance.

You will not be forced to upgrade at all.

And, you can keep the Windows installer around in case you need it in the future.

However, you will not be able to change the software back to 2.12.1 once it is removed from the servers. You can move the Maestro (and the radio) to any of the currently published versions.

    Mike,

not sure if I am able to explain my worries (english is not my 1st language)… When the software disappear from the server, how can I connect my Maestro (loaded with 2.12.1) to a radio running 2.12.1? It seems (for now) I do get a s/w list to choose, including the already installed 2.12.1 (no up- nor downgrade), when starting Maestro (not always as it then directly connects). If s/w is gone from the list, not sure how to proceed and connect.
