4.2.20 long start time

After completing the 4.2.20 update in windows 11 I have a VERY long start time when clicking on the SDR tab. It did not do this prior the the update. I have uninstalled/reinstalled twice and rebooted twice and restarted the radio twice. If I downgrade to the prior version, it starts as normal…

    John,

I have more or less the same problem. I wouldn't say that it takes very long, but at least twice or three times as long until DAX and CAT starts up.

Pull all the cat and dax and all versions of prior ssdr off your computer. Reboot the computer. In your case id even do a cold start and factory reset back on the radio. Do a fresh install of 4.2.20... i would probably **** all your profile backups also. There's something really messed up... then start the radio. Then reboot your computer and start ssdr v 4.2.20. Follow the release notes like they are the bible on sunday morning... then update the radio. Then reboot everything say a few prayers and see what you have. I was really worried with mine as i just sort of winged it all from memory but it came up and just flew. Best version of the software so far. Now... you have had cat and dax drivers from previous versions. Not compatible. These finally behave under win 11. As ive mentioned previously sometimes its just best with windows to do a fresh install if things get really boogered up. Since win 95. I reload my computer annually to clean up garbage... before you format and reload you might want to open a ticket. This software is smooth... and if it isnt that way something at the computer level is **** up. Just stop going back and forth between old versions. If you arent a win 11 tech you dont know whats happenening under the hood. Most likely cat and dax... old versions didnt get properly removed. If you keep going back. You're likely to find yourself reloading from scratch with no backups... that wastes a whole day or more. Good luck.
