I'm frustrated trying to get SmartLink going. What am I doing wrong?
SmartLink and FlexRadio is new to me and the learning curve seems steep and I don't know anyone else with a Flex that I can get help from.
In trying to set up SmartLink I click on "Automatic" and this is what I get.
When I look at my modem it seems to show that UPnP is on. I have done a factory reset on the modem twice, verified UPnP is on, and get the same result from SmartLink.
Does anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong? I'm hoping to get this working soon as I leave for the Summer in two weeks and would like to be able to remote in to the radio.

The D4C contest group has a solution for you called D4Zero. You can use it with your current ISP.

I don’t use SSDR for Windows, but you can try replacing the -1 with the actual port number TCP 4994 and UDP 4993. Also, I assume you’re forwarding the ports to the radio’s local IP address. Lastly, do you have a public IP address (WAN)?

Mike, that looks like you are in manual mode. The -1 means you are having a port forwarding error. If your Router has uPNP turned on, it usually works the first time. Sometimes you have to reboot the radio.
Give this a try:

And, if you are still having an issue, open a support ticket and we will happily sort it out for you.
Let us know how you make out.

Thanks Mike. I have been through the articles, verified UPnP is active, rebooted everything, tried manual, etc. over the last two days. I will put in a support ticket.

Ken at the help desk was prompt and a great help though it is not the answer I was looking for. It turns out that
"Unfortunately, your Tracert test indicated the possibility that your network has a Multi-NAT issue, and perhaps also a CG-NAT issue. Both of which are not compatible with SmartLink's Port Forwarding requirements."
So now I'm trying to find a new provider that can give me a "routable public IP address." The problem is that I'm in a private community and they supply the internet. I may have a tough time finding a different provider.

Try your wireless phone carrier. They sometimes call it WiFi Air or something similar. Basically a Gateway with cell radio, bypassing wired connection.

The D4Zero option is not a bad choice and it does work.
