Lightning Detection and Protection System

On the Ham Radio Work Bench we recorded last night, I talked about a disconnect system for antennas that you can buy.

While there is no perfect system that will remotely remove the radio from the desk and put it in the box and throw the coax out the window, this is a great tool.

What makes it better than some of the other devices is that the ground is also isolated and that you do need to run seperate ground leads from each side box to your common ground point.

I have one of these and it is very well thought out. (no, not related to them in anyway—just sharing)

    @VA3MW

    Thanks Mike, this is EXACTLY what I needed for my back yard "He Shed" Remote situation with 4 antenna run into the AG.

    I need an 8 version, but I will use 2 between the AG and the TG and the AG might have to die a hero. :)

    I have a nice ground box with copper base plate connected to a couple 8ft rods, and the commercial ground system rod, mounted on the outside shed wall behind the AG 8X2 where all the Antennas enter the shed now. Was hoping to fit all inside the box and feed outputs to the AG. We shall see :))

    I made this, so the perfect coax disconnect switch does exist. 😁 Can also be controlled remotely from my phone.
