UPGRADE PROBLEM

in FLEX-6000 Signature Series

Just installed 4.01 from 3.35. Installation seems successful as the 4.01upgrade has a check and it says "this version installed"one the open screen

After the upgrade the radio showed no slices and couldn't open one at my urging I tried to open a slice by pressing the RX TX buttons but no go. I turned the radio off and on again and got the download screen with the check mark again Turned the radio off, I unplugged the power supply for one minute turned everything back on; still no slices and the screen kept alternating from ADP on to normal but no response to anything What now?

    Update: After OPERATE screen instead of the run screen it wants me to download the checked new version again. trying that now. The INFO screen still has my 3. license listed

    Meant to mention this is on a 6400M Hope this is in the right forum. Thanks.

    Hi Bob, the current release is 4.1.5, is that what you meant? If not, I would recommend downloading 4.1.5 and loading that. There was no 3.35; 3.10.15 was the last version 3 release. I just mention that in case you are taking about something other than SmartSDR for Windows.

    You will show a licensed version of 3 unless you purchase SmartSDR+. You will retain your version 3 features, but no version 4 features will be available unless you do the upgrade. Once upgraded, you will get free feature updates for a year. Bug fixes are free whether you upgrade or not.

    Hi Len Thank you for getting back.

    4.1.5 is the upgrade that I am trying to download but program keeps crashing in the middle. I did have version 3. way before 3.10 which isn't on the available versions any more.

    I may have a connection problem from my router or a computer issue. I notice that there is supposed to be a yellow light near the Ethernet connection on the radio but mine is not on. I am using a brand new cat6 6 ft cable from radio to the router I am running a 25ft cat 6 cable from the modem to the shack which is on the second floor. It is old and may be flawed. .

    A few questions

    1 Can I upgrade the radio software directly to the radio and connect it to the SDR program on the computer later?

    2. Do you think I should try a factory reset?

    3. I have been reading directions all day but I think I am probably missing something. Where can I get a dumbed down step by step way to do this?

    Bob, you should open a support case.

    You don't say what model of radio it is.

    Yes, it is safe to do a reset.

    Also, screen shots are very helpful.

    Hi Bob, no, you need to download SmartSDR to the front panel or to your computer. Then run it and it will prompt you to upgrade the radio.

    I don't think a factory reset will help in this case, but it certainly won't hurt anything. Just be sure to do an export on your profiles if you do a reset.

    Are you trying to download 4.1.5 to your computer or to your 6400M front panel? I very much suspect either a cable or how you have your router or switch hooked up.

    Hi Len I originally downloaded 4.0.1 directly to the radio. The radio is now telling me that the v4.0.1 is installed. It is green checked and when I highlight it on the select version operate screen it switches to run. This is my latest discovery a few minutes ago. So it did download but won't open without crashing. I think I am going to start from scratch and see if I can figure out the problem. If not I will probably need some help from Flex

    Hi Bob, starting from scratch seldom fixes the issue. I would take Mike's recommendation and open a help desk ticket. Flex Support has seen it all before and will be able to get you up and running much faster.

    YAY!! Factory reset worked and the 4.0.1 version that I downloaded is installed in the radio! You guys held my hand and I appreciate it. Thank you very much

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
