WSJT and Aurora CAT not working at power on

A new and strange situation: If I turn on my computer that "runs" the Aurora and the "RF deck", at the same time and start the SDR, it receives just fine and can also xmt OK on CW. If I start WSJT-X, the CAT control doesn't find the Aurora and WSJT crashes. If I close the SDR and restart the computer, without turning off AC power or shutting down the Aurora RF deck and then bring the SDR back up everything works fine.

I can simply make this my regular power-up routine, which I have been doing but it is annoying. Any fix I can try?

I have been working a lot of CW and FT8 on HF and 6m with great results.

You may want to open a support ticket to try to find the root cause. Something in the networking path is amiss.

Have a look at your firewall rules. Or, for a test, turn off your firewall and see if it works as it should.

The computer that runs the Aurora has McAfee and Windows Defender is disabled. I temporarily turned McAfee off and nothing changed.

Some more details on the situation: Turn on both computer and RF deck at the same time. Log in to the computer. Then be sure the RF deck is fully booted up and run SmartSDR for seconds, and I mean like 5 seconds, without enabling WSJT. Then close SmartSDR and reboot the computer. Restart SmartSDR and WSJT and everything else works fine.
