Senheiser PC3 Headset on a 6400M

Hi Folks

I have a 6400M and a Sennheiser PC3 headset.

I use it with all my transceivers (not the Flex). An adapter supplies the headset with 8V.

The 6400M has a separate microphone input. The original FHM-2 microphone has a 3-pin connector.

In the menu, I can enable the bias. I thought this would supply voltage to the microphone jack, allowing me to use a headset with an electret capsule. But it doesn't work.

Am I misunderstanding something?

Check the headset and see if the MIC connections are TIP and Sleeve or Ring and Sleeve. It makes a difference.

Well, Ha Gei writes that it works for him with the same headset. That means the PIN assignment should be correct...

You would think. There have been comments previously in the community that others have determined that there have been variances.

My Koss SB400 will NOT work on my 6600M without an adapter that I bought on Amazon. I’m not at home, but I think it was a Mono to Stereo adapter that removed the Ring from the circuit.

A Stereo to Mono Adapter was the solution.
