tnx for comments; don't mind paying for the early access but the knob is still getting stuck at around 6-7 o'clock position it does NOT feel the same as the 8600M just frustrating that ALL THREE of my radios had problems; 6600M front speaker was dead 5 years ago; 8600M had terrible fan noise and now this; such is life bigger problems to deal with; anyway tnx for comments; do i have the power set up correctly it's @100% and only getting 100 watts out; tnx for info

**** question is FRStack third party software; not familiar with it tnx
0 -
Yes ,FRStack is a 3rd party application. It has a lot of useful features and once you get used to it,, you will wonder how you ever got along without it.

Maybe you can pull the knob slightly towards you and take pressure off of whatever is causing it to bind up. But, to be on the safe side, I would still suggest opening a Help Desk ticket.

did that and was told to take the rubber ring off first then remove the VFO knob and look for a loose piece of tape holding onto a counterweight; great start for a new radio HIHI

I remember reading something about removing the rubber ring now that you mention it. I hope you didn't damage anything if you tried my suggestion first!
I hope the correct procedure fixed the problem for you.

did the rubber ring and counterweight was still taped to the knob; everything worked last night at home did not realize that 100% power output = 500 watts; nowcan't log into from my xyl appartment

8600M is obvioulsy in watts not percentage; i will check monday re home network

Yes, the 8600M power output displays in watts. The Aurora displays percentage. But, there is a meter display for the Aurora that shows up to 600 watts. Plus, PA temperature and power efficiency. It is selectable from the top row of tabs.
I am glad you found the problem with your VFO. Someone must have been in a hurry assembling the radio and overlooked that.

just wanted to thank everyone re advice; forgot i had to register the 520M re smartlink and it is a little different from the 6600M/8600M it is done directly from the radio and then hit the PTT on the mike; was on 40M AM and now have to play with the microphone for best audio settings; will try out the noise limiting software the the ADP as well;

@Arnold Goldman this is a support issue. ticket opened. The Aurora Frame and the 8000 frame/knobs are identical.
All Aurora radios are shipped with SmartSDR Basic. Sorry if that wasn't clear easier.
