How about adding DSP slider controls in SmartSDR 4?

Brillant Idea! :)

There isn't much to go on with this that will help engineering. What is it you are trying to achieve?

Look at it this way Mike, What is it in the new algorithms that made the programmers eliminate the slider adjustments? If its because they are not necessary then that should have at least been mentioned at some point.

Some of the new DSP functions are more complex than what we have been using. Making adjustments to different values that the new algorithms use will probably require more display area to accommodate the extra settings. I would think that adding something like a Right Click on a DSP button could present a pop-up menu with sliders or whatever is needed to provide a value or set of values to the algorithms that can then be saved and exit out of the menu. There could even be a reset to default button on the same menu if the new settings don't do what the user needs it to do. This would eliminate having a lot of sliders and other controls visible all the time. I like the idea of having a clean looking interface. But, taking away the user's ability to fine tune different functions to suit their local environment doesn't make sense to me. Put the extra controls on pop-up menu's and make them accessible by Right clicking on the relevant button on the screen.

Hi Mike,
In case you’ve not yet seen it, there’s a discussion about the loss of functionality here https://community.flexradio.com/discussion/8032476/smartsdr-4-0-1-basic-sliders-missing#latest0 -
Yes, would love to see this come back, at least as far as it's practical. Some of the new DSP modes are very potent, and as such can introduce artifacts and reduce signals in some situations. the ability to finely tune the mix can help dial in the right amount.
Perhaps it's something like a wet/dry blend such as in many audio effects tools.

Please return the sliders. There are some situations where the predetermined settings actually degrade reception. Now I use the DSP functions less often.0
