CW settings for SO2R with N1MM

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to get things working but am still facing some issues. Does anyone have any written settings or configuration tips? I have the KE5DTO/K9CT setup documents, but the audio switching is not functioning as expected.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I found that internal switching on 6700 is not fast enough, and those short delays are simply making it useless for 2BSIQ. For standard SO2R its OK.

    Thank for help

Can you explain what you are hearing with more detail?

I am also curious if your CW Delay settings are greater than your TX Delay settings.

    Hi Mike,

    Thanks for the follow-up question.

What I am hearing is the following:

When the Flex 6700 switches audio using the OTRSP protocol, there is a random delay in the audio handover, and very often the first part of the caller’s first CW character is missing. Because of this, I either need the caller to repeat, or I have to ask for a repeat myself — which completely defeats the purpose of 2BSIQ operation, where timing and accuracy are critical.

In short, the speed and consistency of the audio switching is not sufficient for high-rate 2BSIQ.

I also opened another topic on the Community regarding running two Flex radios from a single PC, because in my experience that seems to be the only reliable approach for true 2BSIQ operation.

I created a supported ticket for this.
