Upgrading second hand Flex 6600

Hi, new to this group and new Flex owner,
I recently bought a 6600 from a local amateur who is a keen CW operator and therefore hadn't upgraded to v3 due to a long history of CW dropouts fixed in 2.12.1. This machine is on that version working well. I tried to upgrade to latest v3 but was told I need to buy a license. My radio is directly connected to my home network with 300Mb internet access. I therefore hace (successfully) downgraded back to v2.12.1. I would like to go up to v4. Is there a way round this? I am aware that the reason may be that the previous owner did not progress to v3 within a deadline.

Hi Phil, you can upgrade directly to V4 at no charge. You will retain your V2 features. There is an issue with V2 upgrades at the moment, so you will need to submit a help desk ticket to upgrade.
If you want V3 features and up, you will need to purchase SmartSDR+. If you want early access to new features, you will need to purchase the Early Access license.

Len: I am also on v2. Should the help desk ticket be submitted before trying to upgrade to v4? Or after trying and encountering the problem?

Hi Tim, I think I would submit the help desk ticket so that you are not stuck while waiting for a reply.
