New 8400M, 1 month old, Select a Version firmware issue?

in SmartSDR for Windows
Accidentally download firmware from 3.9.19 to 3.9.18. Now when I restarted the radio then press operate, it goes to the Select a Version screen, I then press update again and a popup asked do you want to downgrade your radio. I select no and remain stuck on the select a version screen. I have tried to downgrade twice then reload the latest software, do a cold restart. No joy. please help. Bob. K8EQC

    Hi… best bet is to open a Help Desk ticket. The guys at Flex are pretty good at getting back with ideas and solutions in pretty quick order.

    Hi Bob, the radio tries to operate with the version of software that you have loaded on your computer or front panel (Maestro).

    It sounds like the front panel is back a version, so the radio wants to know if you really want to downgrade, which, of course, you don't.

    You need to get the front panel back up to 3.9.19. do you see that as an option when you start it up?

    Hi Super elmer and thanks for responding. I think your correct on only needing to get the front panel back up to 3.9.19. I don't see that as an option when I start it up. The Select a Version screen shows v3.9.18 in the upper left with no other choices. I opened a ticket with the help desk. The latest Windows release notes talk about downloading the latest version to the M front panel but I dont see that on any software list at Flex. The notes say selecting that version will start the final portion of the upgrade process. Any more thoughts?

    Finding the correct web page for Flex software downloads is always a challenge. This is always the logical one, but sometimes clicking that puts you into circular logic:

    You need to get to the Installers:

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
