multiple antennes - one coax to atnenne genius - need retune everytime
Flex 6600
1 coax cable to the mast
Antenna Genius (at the base of the mast)
Tuner Genius XL
On, for example, 40 meters, I have 3 antennas:
A beam
An inverted-V
A vertical antenna
Problem:
When I am operating on 40 meters and want to switch from one antenna to another, I have to retune the tuner each time. This is quite inconvenient.
Question:
I know there is a solution that makes this unnecessary, probably by creating groups (antenna/tuner combinations) in the software.
Could you please advise me on how to configure this correctly so that the tuner remembers the settings for each antenna and I do not have to retune every time?
Thank you in advance.

Have you configured all you genius products correctly? Are both the AG and the TG linked to the radio?
I have 3 - 40M antennas and when I change antennas on the AG, the TG picks up stored values.
You may have to tune each of your band segments 3 times at least once (once for each antenna).

I appears from your description, the TG follows the AG, correct. The correct? The correct genius sequence is Flex Radio, TG, then AG. Then, as Mike says, follow the Geniuse Setup guide to link all the communication s together.
Because the AG has knows the frequency to antenna data, it provides this to the TG to find the tuning solution for that antenna……this would explain your constant need to re-tuning.

Yes, they are linked. I am only using one antenna port on the tuner since I only have one coax running from the shack to the mast and the Antenna Genius.
Do I need to create groups? How can the tuner remember the different antennas/settings, considering I am only using one coax and one antenna port?0 -
the problem does not occur if I only have one antenna for a band; in that case, it remembers the correct tuning settings.
The issue arises when I switch to a band where I have the option of multiple antennas.
My question is: does this have something to do with creating groups? Output relays?0 -
The AG frequently to antenna config works for either Flex/TG ant1 or ant2. Again, when you select ant 1, your only antenna, The ag buttons will activate any antenna that you programmed to work with the freq set in the TX slice, ant1. The AG sends the freq and antenna you select to the TG for it to find or store the tuning soluction.
Sounds like you have not configured the AG freq to antenna table.0 -
q-does this have something to do with creating groups? Output relay
No. Groups are used in the OM module, which you do not say is in your configuration.

ok, so where do I need to do this?0

Hi Alan, same here, what about the output relays?0

I suggest you read the manual. You can download this from the 403A downloads site. Here is a link;

is this the 1x3 TG or SO2R TG?
Only the SO2R model supports 20 tuning memories per band per antenna with up to 4 antennas per band.
The SO2R TG pulls the config from the 2X8 AG.. The 1X3 TG does not.

Hi Dave, the 1x3 , so no solution? 73 Wim

1x3 would have 20 memories per each of the three antenna ports but not multiple antennas with Antenna Genius

Hi, So no solution I guess… '73 Wim

solution would be SO2R TG and then AG. Then you could have four antennas per band, each with up to 20 memories per antenna per band.
This is the way 4O3A designed it.0
