Maestro battery

Does anyone know why it is not possible to have both internal battery and outer 12V connected to Maestro A/B ? Sad to have to take out the internal when you have access to 12V

Why do you have to take the battery out? I can leave mine in without any problems.

The only thing I have ever heard is that the Maestro A/B wont charge the battery when the Maestro, And MOST of the Battery's Won't charge from the USB A port and only from the Micro_USB port anyway so even if the Maestro could the Battery couldn't.

Back in first days of the Maestro A, the goal was to be able to charge a power pack for the Maestro at the same time as use it.

While the idea was sound, the OEM packs that people use all behaved differently. Some worked as they should while others actually killed the Maestro A to the point you couldn’t turn it on. I was part of the Alpha team then and I remember FlexRadio spending months trying to stabilize it. Ultimately the charging cable was removed.
