SmartLink currently down - June 16, 17:30 UTC?
I connected to my radio remotely earlier today(and am still connected). If I try another connection I see no radios available. I've tried two different internet providers. And as I mentioned I am currently connected to the radio.
I know SmartLink has been down a few times over the past month or two.
Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Since nobody else has posted to say they are also having issues I'm going to guess something in my 6600M crashed and it needs a reboot.
My one connection to the radio is still working - too bad there isn't a simple "restart" option anywhere.

SmartLink hasn't been down at all in the past few months at all other than a short hiccup. I just checked the last 90 days (we have a status board that shows this).
What software are you using that shows it connected and what software shows it not connected? Is one windows and the other iOS or MACos? This helps

Hi Mike,
All machines are Windows 11, SmartSDR 3.9.18, radio is 6600M. Radio is at my home QTH. I am at my office. When I got in the office this morning I fired up SmartSDR and connected as usual with no issues. A few hours later I tried connecting via a different machine. It shows I am logged into SmartLink but shows no radios are available. At the same time I am still connected via the original machine monitoring 6 meters. If I try SmartCAT from the original machine it also shows I am logged into SmartLink but that no radios are available. I tried a different ISP, that made no difference.
So at this point I'd say the radio must need a full power cycle. I can't do that remotely so I will try it when I get home this afternoon.

Let me know if a reboot resolves it.

A reboot did resolve it. First time this has happened. If it happens again I may try an older version.

I had reported a similar issue yesterday, June 16, and another reported the same program today on the 17. I posted to:
I will attempt another reboot and report back here. Thanks.
UPDATE: Yes! SmartLink is now visible to me again as of June 17 @ 1815Z 11:15 AM PST.
Mike - I would dearly love to see a public facing SmartLink status page. Thank you for passing that along again.

My radio has disappeared from SmartLink again today,
I'm seeing possible reports of it on the Flex FB group as well.

My 6400 became unregistered this morning 6/17. I had to restart the radio and all is well so far.

SmartLink did have a Hiccup this morning. @Annaliese - NH6Z took care of it and had to code a fix to resolve it. We actually monitor its status as well so she was notified. Thanks for letting us know here as you should be good to go now.
BTW, I also noticed a bit of a hiccup as I run 100% remote, but I had my head down all morning in something else, so I missed a big 6M opening from my grid. Again, let me know if you haven't recovered.

Mike - should a radio reboot be required to recover from this issue, or should things just start working again without any user intervention?

yes from what I heard.

Just to confirm that a reboot was required.
Mike - I also see you made a post regarding the outage. It is good that your systems detected the issue on the morning of the 17th, but keep in mind the problem began 24 hours earlier on the 16th.

I’ll ask a more fundamental question. Why can’t these radios simply work peer to peer and skip the need for a server at all? The need for a server seems a significant vulnerability here, particularly in the long run. Other manufacturers have been able to avoid the issue entirely.
I would like to understand the thinking behind this setup. Security cannot be the issue

This is why a LOT of us have built Layer 2 VPN connections back to the Shack, This give you Independent user Logins plus it JUST works but takes a bit of user network / Computer work. This is why D4C has his paid help available to set it up and get going available.
here is his WEB site
and the Flex message thread about it.

I understand there is a third party solution. I am looking for a answer from Flex explaining why they don’t use Peer to Peer
