Why is Samrt SDR suddenly forcing me to use Smartlink when the radio is in the shack like it always

Been using my radio locally in my shack and occasionally on the road via Smart Link

However never had the software Version 3.7.4 force me to locally use Smart Link

Windows machine no recent changes in the shack

    Hi Steven, that probably indicates loss of connection with the radio. It could be any ethernet cable or piece of network gear.

    I would start troubleshooting by connecting your computer directly to the radio. If this works, it establishes that the computer, SmartSDR, the radio and the cable are all ok.

    If that is all ok, power down all of the network gear (router, switch, etc) and power them back up to see if that solves it.

    If the direct connection does not work, then I would shut it all down, reboot the computer and do a factory reset on the radio (export your profiles first). When the radio is done with the reset, start SmartSDR.

    If it still doesn't work, then it is time to submit a help desk ticket.

    It sounds like your radio and your computer are on 2 different networks.

    Any chance you added a mesh or a range extender?

    If you can tell us the IP address of the computer and the IP address of the radio, it might start to tell part of the story.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
