SmartLink Port Forwarding issue, What should I try Next?
I followed the SmartLink setup, I registered the radio and received the green check mark suggesting that I was configured for SmartLink. SmartLink issued Network Port Forwarding Settings and I applied them to my router. Rebooted the router and saved the settings, Rebooted the Flex and started SmartSDR, SmartLink and tested for Port Forwarding connectivity. Both Forwarded ports failed, TCP and UDP. Not sure what to try next!!
Is my Flex registered with a static IP address on a Flex server somewhere? How do I go about troubleshooting this issue? Help from the community is most appreciated. Thanks, PaulP WA4AA

HI Paul, what version of the software are you running? You need to be on a newer version for SmartLink to work. 2.7.6 and 3.2.39 are the current versions as of this post (11/09/21).

Thanks Len, I'm running SmartLink vr 5.0.2 on my iPhone, my laptop is running SmartSDR vr 3.2.39. I think that these are both the latest versions. Are there any other software applications I need to check to see if I'm running the latest version?
Once I registered my Flex radio in the SmartLink setup, the system provided me with the port forwarding addresses to put into my router. I assume that my Flex now has a specific IP address on some Flex server somewhere and the port forwarding information allows the Flex server and my router to somehow connect. Am I thinking right?

Hi Paul, I think you have it right. Are you trying to use SmartLink locally or remotely? It is only for remote operation. If your radio and computer are both on the same LAN segment, then SmartLink is not in play.
If you are not able to connect to your radio (either locally or remotely), you should probably submit a help desk ticket. The Flex support team is really good at diagnosing network issues.

I think that I stumbled over my issue and found the solution. I will locate myself away from my LAN and try to connect remotely. I think it might work this time. Thanks for your response. PaulP WA4AA

Hi Paul
When posting a question like this, it is always good to post some screen shots so we can quickly diagnose the problem.
- The SmartSDR SmartLink Screen that shows the ports it expects
- The page in your router that shows the uPNP port forwards or the manual ones that you may have set up.
Those 2 items will very quickly tell the entire story.
