White Power Light

awosha
awosha Member, Unconfirmed
When my 6400 power cycles (like loss of power) when it comes back on line it goes into a "locked state" with a white power light. I have to physically press the power button to get it to boot up. Thus after a power failure I need to goto the shack and press the power button. Not practical if im out of town. The REM (remote on is disabled). Any ideas?? White power light is not even mentioned as a possibility in any user manuel.

@awosha , take a look at this link. I think this might be a good solution to your problem. Also look for videos on YouTube from Mike, VA3MW. He has taken remote operation of Flex radios to a whole new level and provides insights that I have incorporated into my station that make it very usable remotely.

After a power failure, you will have to push the power button to power the radio back up. This is by default and is working as designed.

The Remote setting controls the RCA REM connector on the back of the radio.

    REMOTE POWER ON INPUT

This RCA connector is provided for remote power-on functionality. When the Remote Power ON feature is enabled, shorting this input to ground will activate the radio - opening this connector will disable power on the radio. Refer to the SmartSDR documentation for information on how to configure this input. (Note: 3.3VDC Max Input.)
