WSJT-X

Hi All

Crazy problem: All of a sudden I don't have any audio from WSJT-X. The RF output is there as I can see it on the panadapter. The DAX is on. But I can't hear what I am sending. Any ideas?

On DAX, try turning off the TX stream, then turn back on.

    Or, shutdown and restart DAX.

Ok. I can give that a try. Easy enough.

Happens to me occasionally and the ultimate solution is to shutdown DAX then restart it. As soon as it restarts the TCP connection it comes up running fine.

Happens to me about an hour or hour or two after starting WSJT-X. Bring WSJT-X down and up and I'm good again for an hour... Don't think it's DAX.

The Audio loss between WSJTx and DAX is something that some people see all the time and some not at all.

Over the years, I have watch it pretty closely. I can run weeks without issue. Then, one day without warning, I can't make it more than a few hours.

I also have an IC-9700 that I use on VHF for MSK144 and I have seen it happen there as well. All, on the same computer.

What we do know is that the symptom is the audio disconnect happens. What we don't know is if the problem is 100% related to DAX or is it related to WSJTx. This makes it hard to actually fix.

My guess is that it is somehow related to the DPC's (how busy your computer is) causing a loss of a communications handle. Yes, we all think our computer isn't very busy, but unless you actually dig under the covers, it is hard to tell.
