Distortion of recorded audio
I bought a new mic this week. This has nothing to do with that, but it got a friend of mine and I doing some over the air recordings. We're both running the latest firmware (3.2). It records and plays back. When playing back locally it sounds just fine. The station listening to it says it is nearly unreadable it is so distorted.
Since I am using a dynamic mic. I have mic gain at 47. Processor is set to normal. As I am driving an amp power out is 60W.
I sound normal with the mic. When transmitted back to me it sounds pretty rough from his rig. We're both running 6400Ms. His power is around 500W from a KPA500. Mine is about 1KW from an Heathkit SB221.
I don't recall having this problem prior to the firmware update. I don't know if it's an unknown bug. Or if both our rigs are broken. 😉

Just to close the loop on this, it was discussed on the FaceBook Enthusiasts group and is now resolved. One of the radios had to be reset.
