AM Broadcast Interference on my Flex 6400

We have several 50KW AM stations within a 10 mile radius of my QTH strong enough to occasionally lift the entire spectrum in sync with music or a voice. Are there recommended externbal passband filters to cut off everything below 1.8MHz?

    Thanks Len - since asking, I did a search and found one from Morgan KF7P and another from DX Engineering - both rated for 200W - may give one a try or whip one up myself - the 6400 is amazing sensitive (no complaints there)!

    The company I worked for has used the DX engineering brick wall filter (when it was hand built by the designer) for installations of military radios that were suffering from proximity to an AM station. It was a 150 watt radio and mostly used for digital comms. The filter worked very well.

    You also might look into notching the worst offender. A series cap and inductor to ground works.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph.
