Hello
I received my Maestro (V2) yesterday and it is great!
when I opened the battery compartment to install my battery, I found there is a choke on the USB cable that will not let me hook up the battery. I need it to come out toward the top or bottom of the compartment, not the center. I have attached a picture.
I am reluctant to oen the case because of warranty.
Anybody else seen this?

Brent,
It is designed for a battery with a side connector. The batteries are available on Amazon for a few bucks.

Yes, I know. Can you not order a battery type that is designed to work with the Maestro with a side connection? They are plentiful on Amazon and other sources for a few bucks. You will void your warranty if you open the Maestro. It can be difficult to reassemble properly.

Thank you for your comments
I bought a battery with (what I think of) side ports, I have attached a picture of the battery.
My problem is the choke on the USB cable will only let the cable come out in the center of the compartment.

Sorry, now I understand the problem. I suggest you open a help ticket with FlexRadio to get their recommendation. They may talk you through how to open the Maestro to reroute the cable. In any case please open a ticket.

Brent I know what you are up against. Flex recommended the MOGIX. It has two ports marked 2.1A and 2.5A but you can only hook up to the 2.1A as it is in the center. You will have to buy another battery sorry man.0

Interesting, this raises a separate question. My Maestro is an early V2 model. Just checked and there is no added ferrite core (and more than enough cable length to reach either side of the battery). My question is: if Flex is now shipping with the added core, is it recommended that one be back fitted on the early models?

My thoughts exactly Ian. I purchased my Maestro spring of 2018 so not sure if that makes it an early V2 model but come on FLEX, share the updates and if there are issues with the past designs. Why the change?0

I worked with Tim and the service team to resolve this matter. FlexRadio paid to have it returned to Austin, they fixed the issue rapidly and professionally. It was returned in a timely fashion and I am very pleased. I am very happy with the whole FlexRadio team.0
