intermittent lack of output modulation/power

When keying my radio using the PTT via front Mic connector, occasionally (~1 for every 20 attempts) the radio goes into transmit (Red Light, RCA TX1 engages etc) however there is no modulation from the microphone and output power.

I do not observe any problem when keying via CAT.

Flex 6700 SSDR v1.5.1.70

    Have you tried it with a different microphone? Maybe the audio path is keyed through the microphone switch. However, I have never seen a microphone that did that.

    I was getting that both from PTT and CAT. Reset the radio and now PTT seems OK but no output via CAT. Perplexing!

    I had that happen a few times (very few) on my rear panel foot-switch during this weekend's CQWW SSB 2015 contest.  In previous software versions it seemed to happen a lot more frequently. 

    I think it also happened about once or twice in 425 contacts so far when using DAX & CAT to key the N1MM+ Voice Keyer. 

    It seems to be what I would call, for lack of a better engineering term, either an "interrupt problem" or a "keybounce issue."  The engineers at FRS have been working on it and recent releases have improved the situation, but it still raises its head from time to time.

    Ive been experiencing this for about a year... and it certainly has gotten better in recent software releases, but its still there.  Good to hear its being worked on.

    This is a known issue, but one that has been very difficult to determine root cause because it is so intermittent.  We think we may have found a contributing issue and that fix will be in the next release of SmartSDR.  Fingers crossed.

    If it helps diagnostics  .... I seldom notice this happening unless I have DAX activated.  (though it HAS happens sometimes) 

    This weekend it happened several times, and seemed to happen more often the longer I operated.  I was using DAX #4 for the N1MM+ Voice Keyer.

    BUT...It happened a LOT less than in some of the previous software releases.
    so you guys are zeroing in on it....crossing fingers.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
