CWX: Internal keyer flaky after CWX grayed out

I haven't seen anyone report this problem yet. Please tell me I'm not the only one!

Sequence:

1)  CW works fine
2)  Enable CWX, send some characters, send a macro, etc.
3)  Disable CWX so it's greyed out.
4)  CW works hesitantly. First dit or dah often doesn't sound (maybe a small click), but then the dit (or dah) stream continues OK.

It feels just like dirty paddle contacts; in fact, that's what I thought it was, so I cleaned and re-spaced the contacts with the feeler gauge. No joy, same hesitancy. (paddle plugged into front jack, speed 16 WPM)

The only thing that will bring the keyer back to normal is to reboot the radio. Re-starting SSDR does not clear the problem. This is very repeatable.

I see now that this was reported two months ago.  Guess I'll just have to do without CWX until it's fixed.

I see the same thing with my 6500.  After sending CWX macro, paddle flaky.  However, sending live via the keyboard continues to work OK.  Only way to get out of problem is restart SSDR.
    Using  ver 1.4.3.132.

    Does new release fix this?

I would download 1.4.11 and see if it improves your situation.

I loaded 1.4.11 and it does exactly the same thing.

I have 5000a, and it works perfectly with CWX.  Now retired to use my 6500.

Here is an exact sequence that causes it.

1.Boot up computer, turn 6500 on.
2.Send CW with iambic keyer, works OK.
3.Hit F12 (or some F key) to run a macro.
    4.Macro ends.
5.Turn transmitter on to send CW and it is impossible to send accurate CW.
Jumpy and delays in sensing contact closure.

To recover, Turn everything off, and restart the radio.  Iambic keyer will again work
properly until I use an F key to send a macro.

What I know about it.  Need more details?

    Suggest something to try?

    Thanks  Roy
