Aurora Power Output

Hi All,

I am currently using an AU-510 Aurora with a Maestro 3 and the latest 4.2.20 release, and everything works great. I did notice something that a subsequent release might address.

On the 100 watt 6xxx or 8xxx series radio, the numeric power output value shown on the Maestro goes from 0 to 100, which I had always assumed was indicating watts. Only after playing around with the Aurora did I realize that it is actually displaying the percentage of the full power, 500 watts in the AU-5xx series. So that means I have to do mental math (oh no) when setting power levels.

It sure would be nice if the SmartSDR software could detect what sort of radio was being controlled and give Aurora users an option to display percentage or actual watts of output. I know that the power output meter is scaled to show 500 watts, but I usually end up looking at the numeric display when setting power with the rotary control on the Maestro.

Just a thought...

The watt meter on the Maestro shows wattage, not percentage, so when you go to full power, it is on a 600 watt scale.
