Q5 transverter interaction

Hi all,

Just received the 2m 75w version and 50w uhf from Corey. Plugged everything and using an amplifier antenna 9 El vhf and 16 El uhf interlaced antenna. Corey recommended 50mhz IF for vhf and 28 for uhf in order to have less interaction. With 2 slices opened one on vhf and one in uhf xvta and xvtb (flex 8600) when I transmit with 20 watts in vhf I hear myself on harmonics in uhf. Anyone is facing same issue. What can I do? Does it require band pass filters? Cause I never saw anyone discussing about this.

Thanks

Have you tried a low pass (or band pass) filter after the 2m Transverter and a high pass filter on the 70cm transverter? Those may help. Could also be the 'rusty bolt' issue that often plagues a lot of repeater owners. Full duplex can be a pain at times.

You can get some mutual interaction between VHF and UHF due to the harmonics. You might want to try using a bit less than full power on VHF and that will reduce the interaction.

On my satellite station, the feedline for VHF and UHF run parallel for 60' and just due to mutual induction, I can get some cross band interference.

Adding some sort of low pass filter on the VHF feedline (like 1/2 of a diplexor) may resolve your issue.

    Hi both,

Ok I did not expect to see that, will look into some band pass filters.

    Thanks
