How do I configure my router to work with my new Flex 8400?

Can anyone help me with the router/Flex radio settings for port forwarding?

Here's some questions I have:

Do I use single port forwarding, port range forwarding, or port range triggering?

What do I type in for application name, external port, internal port, protcol, and device IP number?

Do I need to mess with the DDNS?

Thank you!

I answered your post on Facebook as well.

Before you worry about doing a manual setup, I highly recommend you walk through the instructions in chapter 9 of the SmartSDR manual. Do the user setup, the PTT registration and then allow the radio to do all the above for you automatically. Most routers have uPNP turned on and that will fully configure your router.

This is especially important if you have a limited understanding on networking.

FlexRadio is the ONLY radio that has made their remote networking interfacing plug and play and you don't need an education in networking.

Hi Mike! Thank you for your reply. Well, I have looked for over an hour attempting to find the Flex 8400 Manual and still cannot find it! I did find the FLEX-8000 Series Documentation, but chapter 9 is very sparse and says nothing about the steps you listed. How might I find the SmartSDR Manual?
