120/220V use

Just received my AU520. I was planning on using it on 220V line due to having a 220V shut off relay and also a beefy EMI/RFI filter on it. Is there something I need to do to the 110/220V connector on the radio to switch from 110 to 220V acceptance? I first tried on 220 and radio wont start up. I switched to the 110Vcord and all starts up as normal. What did I miss? The quick start manual just says "PLUG INTO 110/220V" and go!

No. Just install the correct plug or have an electrician do it.

The power supply can handle any voltage from 100-264VAC. I know this works as I tested it in multiple countries.

If it didn't work on 220VAC, is it possible your plug was not wired correctly?

    @ VA3MW Hi Mike,

Plug was all ok. been using it on the PGXL for years and tested all ok again today. Maybe the new 4ft 220v cord I bought was not pushed into the back of the AU520 socket far enough. That also happened with 110 V plug the first time.

I will make sure I have a good connection on the rear of the AU520.. I suspect that may have been the problem.

A few other weird niggles showed up but SSDR restart fixed most but for some reason I keep getting update firmware in big red letters every other time I started TGXl Ver 1.2.17 firmware so I actually just let it upgrade again and that fixed all the interlock errors. Is 2.1.17 the latest Version firmware for the TGXL?

After I had some spinach, I tried the 220V power cable again and this time I must have been strong enough to insert it fully into the back of the Aurora… working fine on 220V now. :) This case, Watson, is closed.

Glad to hear you got it figured out.

Don't worry, we almost had someone ship back his dead Aurora as they forgot to turn the power supply on with the main switch on the back. Right beside the power plug. :)

    It happens.
