How to switch from SmartLink to SmartSDR

We have a remote Flex-6400 that is accessed via SmartLink. That is working fine. However, we are implementing a front end club portal (currently the beta "iShareRadio") which handles scheduling, user rights (licence class), and many other fiunctions.

However, that requires the user to run SmartSDR locally as the iShareRadio client handles the connection to the remote radio (makes it as if it's local).

We are new beta team members and we want to have our beta testers join, BUT that requires SmartSDR and not SmartLink. The process should be a simple but it seems to be overly complicated … or maybe I am making it overly complicated?

  • If we are currently connecting to the remote Flex-6400 via SmartLink, how can we bypass that and run SmartSDR on our computer?
  • As the radio is remote, I am trying to avoid the need to re-register the radio (needs the PTT press)

I tried to log-off, reboot, restart SmartSDR, enter the UID and PWD, but it brings me back to SmartLink, which not what I need.

Do I need to uninstall SmartSDR 4.1.5 and reinstall it fresh?\
