Unpromped shutdown

in SmartSDR for Windows

i need to monitor certain frequencies on a long term basis. This involves leaving smart sdr on for long periods of time. Often the program shuts down without being commanded. I have never observed it doing so. On win11.

    one possible explanation is a power saving mechanism (I won’t call it a feature) that is putting the pc to sleep.

    Sometimes, a random shutdown is due to loss of network traffic for some reason. It could be a network port that is flapping and enough packets are dropped that the radio disconnects.

    If the radio randomly reboots, then that is something that the support team needs to look into.

    my 8600 does it from time to time generally from a radio shut off cycle using the remote power control after about 20-40 minutes, This started in 3.10.10 and continues in 3.10.15, I know of a friends 6400 does it as well.

    I have noticed that after it does it once then it is Stable for several days with out any shutdowns so haven't seen it as a real problem for me, but people that turn their Radios off all the time sure would.

    Bret — it isn't impossible that it might be related to a tired SD card. Please follow up with support. That is just one of many possible root cause issues.

    Mike, I didn't think the 8600 had a SDCard, Please explane

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu.
