Does the radio have to be hooked up to my network before configuring it? My router is 50 feet away.

Yes, either to your network and the pc you will be using or a direct connection between the radio and your computer using an ethernet cable.

    Congrats!!

Before you jump in, I highly recommend that you watch a few of our new users videos. It will really help out.

Between the videos and the SmartSDR Users Guide, you are good to go.

And kudos to Flex for the users guide. The best piece of ham user documentation I have ever used. Unlike most software documentation, it is written in a conversational style, presenting procedural steps and the effects of those procedures. Most documentation presents a list of commands, so using this type of material is like trying to learn a language from a dictionary. Every Flex user should read it completely from beginning to end.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
