Flexcontrol continue to work when SmartSDR window is not in focus?

Hello. I'm considering purchasing the FlexControl when it is back in stock. I'm having trouble confirming if the Flex control will continue to work as programmed when theSmartSDR window is not in focus. Even when 2 different PCs are used.

Here is my setup:

PC #1 runs SmartSDR. It is a laptop running Windows 11

PC#2 runs everything else for the station, SmartSDR CAT, SmartSDR DAX, FRStack, and logging program (AClog or N1MM). Also running Windows 11. PC#2 is a miniPC located in the shack along side my Flex 6400.

I bring the laptop with me when I travel to operate remotely and use remote Windows Desktop Connect to interact with PC#2. When I am operating, the majority of the time I'm interacting with PC#2. I interact with PC#1 only to change frequency.

I'm looking to confirm if I use Flexcontrol knob to change frequency, I will NOT need to change the focus from PC#2 to PC#1 and the SmartSDR window. I'd like to be able to keep the focus on a window from PC#2 and the Flexcontrol change the frequency or do anything that I program the Flexcontrol buttons to do. Will FlexControl allow me to do this?

The Flex Control should be connected to the PC running SmartSDR. It creates a COM port when plugged in and SmartSDR will recognize it (enable Flex Control in SmartSDR setup).

The knob will work whether your monitor is connected to laptop or mini PC.

Again, the Flex control needs to be connected to the PC that runs SmartSDR.

Expanding on Dave's answer, in your scenario Flex Control will work if connected to PC#!/laptop and SmartSDR doesn't need to be in focus.

Thank you both. The Flexradio site indicates the FlexControl will be in stock mid June. Anyone from Flex able to update that? Or if there is a way to get on a waiting list?
