SDR for Mac with latest firmware update 3.9.18

Options

Can anyone verify that SDR for Mac and/or iOS is compatible with the latest firmware update (3.9.18)? I am aware of the statement on the the App Store "… all versions …" but that statement has been on there forever. 3.9 represents a significant change and I've been expecting a specific statement whenever (or if?) Marcus updates his offering. The last Mac and iOS updates were a little over a month ago and prior to the issue of the latest firmware.

I suspect given the issues found in 3.9.18 firmware he is either doing extra work or delaying until Flex comes out with a patch release to address the problems and then he can retest and issue his MacOS client release. Just a quess.

I have been using SmartSDR 3.9 (and the next one 3.10) with SmartSDR casually with SmartSDR for MAC and iOS and I haven’t tripped over anything other than on my MAC I can’t change bands with the Band button on my 8600. I think that is something to do with my installation but I haven’t spent anytime debugging it.

Typically we don't attempt to use MacOS client app until it has been tested and blessed by Marcus. When the 3.9.18 compatible version of SmartSDR for Mac appears in the App Store you are safe to update and use with confidence.

I have been using 3.9.18 on my Mac without any issues. Of course, adaptive pre-distortion is not present in the app yet.

I also use 3.9.18 on my Mac-Mini M4… but my one issue is that I am unable to TUNE my external TGXL using the new Tuner Genius Radio Control panel. Two of the three buttons work for me (OPR and BYP) but the TUNE button is unresponsive.

I can use the new FRStack PC program to remotely tune my TGXL, and of course I can remotely tune using the SmartSDR for Windows app… but, my SmartSDR for Mac version 2.9.70 (20251701) is ineffective at remote tuning.

Are there other Mac users able to remotely tune their TGXL? I have submitted a ticket to Marcus but have not yet heard back.

I sent a ticket in to Marcus on another matter, but his automated reply indicated that he was on vacation until 6/20, so there may be some delays. Dan de WA1QZX

Looking in the App Store today see Version 2.9.71 about a week old. In the What's New is this: "…Added support for Two Tone Tuning (firmware 3.9 required)…"

So we're good to go at least on a partial level. The question remains (for myself) is the profiles autosave disable switch implemented!

Will continue with the W11 under Parallels for a bit longer just to play. And I'm reminded there are some things about the oem display I've always liked (better).

    Nice to have choices.
