N1MM+ SO2V(R) 6600 TX and Sidetone

I am back with this. I have setup N1MM+ with my 6600 according to this for SO2R. I want to operate SO2V.

https://www.flexradio.com/documentation/flex-6700-so2r-configuration-n1mm/

When I switch slices with the "/", the TX does not follow the active slice, and the side tone turns off. If I transmit the TX immediately changes to the active slice and the sidetone turns on. The problem with this is my antenna is a SteppIR, so if the antenna needs to tune to the active slice, I get SWR an warning on the amp.

Is there a way for the TX and Sidetone to follow when "\" is pressed?

Thanks 73

Kent

    Hi Kent

It won't work so well at SO2V and is designed to run as an SO2R radio. You'll want to use that configuration.

When you do it that way, OTRSP works correctly.

I have not, lately, tested it with CW, but I haven't heard anyone have issues with it.

    Thanks for the reply.

I have every thing setup for SO2R, but want to just do SO2V. It seems to work okay except for the TX following and the sidetone turning off. I was hoping there was a solution for that. Is it a radio problem or a N1MM problem?

The was was designed to work with SO2R. SO2V is more for radios such as the IC-756, etc.

You can still run SO2R and use the same antenna that SO2V uses. I can't think of a reason why you would pick SO2V over SO2R, but I am sure there might be one I am not aware of.

Biggest reason is I only have one antenna and the antenna is a SteppIR.

    To each there own.

    Thanks!

    Kent,

"\" key is switching only RX. If you want to switch RX+TX together then use "Pause" key.
