8600M with GPSDO

Options
I received my new 8600M with GPSDO about a month and a hale ago. When first received, it did not look like the GPSDO was working. Since then I believe that the unit is working, but it must warm up before operating. The power light does not stay on when I turn the radio off so GPSDO is not kept warmed up. Is this something that will be solved when 3.9 firmware comes out or do I need to file a Help Desk ticket?

If you leave the 12V DC Power on, the GPSDO will stay running. If it does not, please open a support ticket.

Also, the warm up time is directly releated to the location of your GPS antenna. Where do you have it installed?

Mike, the 12VDC has been hooked up for over a month and has not been shut down. My antenna is glued to the inside of a sliding glass door which faces southwest. I used this same antenna on my 6600M with the gpsdo and it worked fine.

Try the GNSS antenna that came with the 8600 if you haven’t already. The older single band GPS antennas don’t work properly with my 8600.

Tim, I tried the new antenna and it worked the same as the old one. Flex has determined that I have a bad GPSDO and is sending a replacement radio with GPSDO.
    Thanks everyone for your help.
