Can't get 6400 to Tx on 60m DIGU

I've been through the various other messages on here about getting FT8 to fly on 60m, but despite following the suggestions, I cannot get the rig to un-grey the TUNE and MOX buttons.

My setup is shown below. I have the TX Filter set to 100-2800, the Freq is correct and I'm not sure what else to try.

Just a thought, not necessarily valid in your case, but if your radio came from ML&S then if the same as mine it needed an updated TURF file to enable 60m operation.

    Hi Garth

We will get this sorted out pretty quickly for you. I created a ticket for you. Your VFO and Bandwidth look correct, but I am not 100% sure what the UK settings are as I am Turfed for Canada.

@Erik Carling EI4KF What does your radio say then? Mine says EU02.

    Hello Gareth,

    EU00

You will hear from Flex in response to the ticket opened courtesy of Mike. They will establish the cause of the issue and whether TURF is the reason and, if it is, which file is correct for UK. Or maybe there is another reason but they will solve it.

OK, I got to the bottom of this, and it's nothing to do with the radio.

The UK band plan is tighter than the US. The sub-band being used by HD8G is from 5354.0 to 5358.0 kHz. If the Fox is using 5357.0 that only leaves 1000Hz for the Hound. F&H states that the Hound must Tx above 900Hz and is advised to Tx above 1000Hz. Obviously, that takes you OOB.

The solution is to set the Tx limits to 0Hz -1000Hz and restrict yourself to the range 900-1000Hz for Tx. That's not a lot of space.

Gareth, please note that HD8G is not using F/H on any band that I have seen and certainly not on 60m.

Also, there is no FT8 software that allows F/H on 60m. On this band, due to its restricted bandwidth, only multistream or single stream can be used. That means you can call on any licensed audio frequency from 5357 0Hz (200Hz in practice) to 3000Hz. I worked them by TXing below their audio frequency.

Therefore, and I only state this as a heads up, there is no need to self impose such a restriction that you quote above.

    Thanks, Erik.

I conflated two issues in my answer. Apologies.
