    Hi John, a few questions:

    What radio?

What version are you updating from/to?

    What O/S (Windows, Mac, etc)?

What client (SmartSDR, Maestro, M model front panel)?

How are you connected to the radio (Ethernet, WiFi)?

    Hi Len,

All good questions that I should have included. Flex 6400, Windows, SmartSDR on PC desktop, WiFi…As I write this, maybe the first thing I need to do is go off WiFI and go to ethernet connection…?

    Hi John

Cannot update, says "Radio uplinks over Smartlink are not supported at this time"

That tells me that you were using SmartLink to connect to your radio. That is the only time it shows up.

It sounds like your radio and the client software (PC, Maestro, etc) is on a totally different network than the radio. If you are using WiFi, is it possible that your WiFi is a Mesh network? If so, it might be that your WiFi clients are totally isolated from the radio and this is why your can't do an update. If this is the case, you may need to change the configuration of your Mesh network so that it runs in a Bridged or AP mode.

Yes, try a test not using WiFi first. See how that works.

If this sounds confusing, please open a support ticket and we can get it sorted out for you.
