I have a 8600, PGXL,TGXL. and am buying a Stepiir Urban beam with the new optimizer controller ….I understand it needs the S12 cable. What else do I need? Is there a guide on how to connect and set this up?

What about interlock to prevent transmission until Stepiir is ready? Or is this necessary?

Also, what if you have two stepiir's?, how do we connect two cables?

if you have two of them you daisy chain there controllers. Regarding transmission you simply have to wait. It only takes a few seconds all the while you can receive.

SteppIR says no damage if RF power is greater then 100 watts RF. SteppIR has a optional "relay board" to allow you to use the PTT wired connection from Flex PTT to SDA controller, to inhibit movement.

Set up a second CAT USB cable on the Flex, associated with the second cable FTDI id. Flex has two USB ports…..if you need more, add a USB hub.

I have yet to have a time when I needed instant transmit upon band change. It’s literally just a second before you can do so. It’s less than 100 watts to be safe but your SWR will be high. Really it’s a non issue. You can daisy chain the controller. I think it’s detailed on their website.
