    hi Jim,

No. The tuner needs to be trained. You have the SO2R model and AG if I remember.

The TG XL has 20 memories per band per antenna. Here’s how I tune mine for 80 meters.

80 meter band is 500 kHz. I divide that by 20 memories. 500/20=25 so my step size is 25 kHz.

Now I divide the step size by 2 and get 12.5 kHz. So first memory would be 3509 kHz (beginning of 80 meters) + 12.5kHz = 3.5125 MHz. I round it up to 3.515 MHz. Tune there, then go up 25 kHz to 3.540 and tune. Go up 25 and keep repeating until you finish the 20th memory at 3.990 MHz.

Now you will never be more than 12.5 kHz away from a tuning solution. The tuner uses the closest memory.

Another note - WARC bands are vey small and you can use only two memories on those bands.
