Maestro B: Little box in battery compartment

Just got a Maestro B w/ 6600M. No extra battery in Maestro but next to the USB pigtail there is a little black box in the open slot that is not secured. It's just floating around. It doesn't pull out of the slot. Any idea what it is?

You can remove that cable. It is used to run the Maestro from a Cell Phone Battery pack.

If you are not going to use it, then there is no rush to reconnect it.
