8600 Bluetooth Capabilities

The 8600 radio does not have Bluetooth capabilities but you can use SmartSDR and in upper right select PC Audio.
Now pair the BT headset with the PC and adjust your TX level.

Yes but I'm thinking of the 8600M without a PC. Strange that by todays standards, such a minor interface as BT was not added to the new line.0

This is a curious question. I wonder how many have requested Bluetooth in the radio.
I for one, would never use it.

Neither would I.

…….let alone the inherent latency that bluetooth is known for……

It would be come a time vampire! :)

Because of intermittent connectivity issues All my formerly bluetooth devices (mouse, keyboard )now are wireless with a dongle or wired.

SmartSDR for Mac .. everything is Bluetooth without any problems. So nice to use Apple Airpods with noise cancellation and other useful options and have the freedom to walk around the house connected. What's not to love?

It would be a great idea to support a Bluetooth dongle through one of the USB ports. I ordered the 8400M and was hoping to use a mouse with it, just as I do with my FT-710. This means not handling Bluetooth directly but at least allowing a dongle for pointer devices.0

I use a BT headset with my IC-705 and no latency delays, problems, etc. Same when I crank it up with my HF amp pushing 700W. I hear well and get great audio reports. I find the reluctant comments a bit odd for a cutting edge radio.
